Set out from the parking area in Senohraby for a walk with a satisfyingly dramatic destination: the ruins of Zlenice Castle. Along the way, several marked photo spots offer an excuse to pause—strictly for artistic purposes, of course—and there is an optional detour to Bastirna for street food. Zlenice was founded in the late 13th century as a noble residence and centre of an estate. Its owners included the Lords of Dubá and the Kostka family of Postupice. The castle was besieged and captured between 1463 and 1465; badly damaged, it was never rebuilt. The remains of its tower and gate are now its best-preserved features, and the site is protected as a Czech cultural monument. At the junction, take the left-hand option if you are walking with a stroller. Farther on, the creator warns of a section with a risk of a falling tree, so follow that warning carefully. After the Bastirna detour and final photo stop, continue to the castle ruins.
